Discover the Benefits—and the Brilliant Design Behind Oxygens Chambers
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) might sound like something from the future, but it’s quickly becoming one of the most popular wellness tools available today. At Oxygens, we’ve designed our chambers with your comfort, safety, and results in mind—so let’s take a look at how HBOT works and what makes our chambers stand out.
So how does hyperbaric oxygen therapy work?
What Is HBOT?
HBOT stands for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. It’s a process where your body is exposed to increased air pressure while you breathe in high-concentration oxygen—usually through a mask. This combination allows more oxygen to dissolve into your bloodstream than you would get from normal breathing.
Why is that important? Because oxygen is essential for healing, energy production, and tissue repair. More oxygen = more potential benefits, including:
- Faster recovery
- Reduced inflammation
- Improved mental clarity
- Enhanced physical performance
So, How Does It Actually Work?
When you step into an Oxygens chamber, here’s what happens:
1. Pressurised Comfort
Once you enter and zip up the chamber it gradually fills with ambient room air, which increases the internal pressure. This pressure allows your body to absorb more oxygen into your blood plasma, giving your cells the boost they need.
2. Breathing Pure Oxygen
You’ll wear a comfortable mask connected to an oxygen concentrator. This machine filters the air in the room to deliver up to 95% oxygen via the mask directly to you. The air you breathe is pure, focused, and powerful.
Oxygens Safety & Support: What Makes Us Different
We don’t just prioritise effectiveness—we prioritise safety, training, and support too. Here’s what makes Oxygens stand out:
Triple-Zip Closure System
Our chambers feature three specially designed zips that securely seal the chamber once you’re inside. These zips are engineered to maintain internal pressure safely throughout your session. They are operable from both inside and out, meaning up can use the chamber alone or with the support of someone outside if needed.
Triple-Valve Pressure System
Unlike many chambers that operate with just one pressure valve, Oxygens chambers are built with three:
- The pressure release valves ensure that the correct pressure main
- As the chamber fills with ambient air from the oxygen concentrator, internal pressure begins to rise. The main pressure release valve ensures the pressure reaches—and stays at—a safe, therapeutic level (typically around 1.3–1.5 ATA for soft-shell chambers). If the pressure exceeds this level, the valve automatically opens slightly to release air and maintain the target pressure.
- Only one valve is needed to operate the chamber.
- The additional two act as fail-safes, giving you complete peace of mind.
Continuous Fresh Air Supply
The chamber is continually filled and refilled with filtered room air by the oxygen concentrator, keeping pressure stable and ensuring a constant flow of fresh air during your session.
Professional Installation & Training
Every chamber is installed and commissioned by a technician qualified through the International Board of Undersea Medicine. You’ll also receive comprehensive equipment training, so you feel confident using your chamber safely and effectively.
24/7 Technical Support
Questions or issues? We’re always here. Just call our 24/7 support team for assistance at any time.
Ending Your Session Safely: How do I exit the chamber?
When your session ends, depressurising is quick and simple:
- Turn or press the pressure release valve.
- The chamber gently returns to normal pressure in under one minute—fully in line with safety guidelines.
- As the pressure drops, the zips soften, making it easy to safely unzip and exit the chamber.
In Summary: Why Choose Oxygens?
At Oxygens, we’ve taken the core science of HBOT and wrapped it in innovation, safety, and personal support. Whether you’re looking to heal, energise, or simply optimise your wellbeing, our hyperbaric chambers are built to support you—one breath at a time.
