Compliance & Engineering Standards

At Oxygens we are committed to the safe design and manufacture of hyperbaric oxygen systems. Our engineering approach is guided by internationally recognised standards used within the hyperbaric and medical device industries.

Our chamber designs are being developed with reference to the following standards and safety frameworks:

  • BS EN 14931 – Pressure Vessels for Human Occupancy (PVHO) — Design principles relating to structural integrity and pressure safety of hyperbaric chambers.
  • NFPA 99 – Health Care Facilities Code (Chapter 14 Hyperbaric Facilities) — Guidance on fire safety, oxygen safety, and operational requirements for hyperbaric environments.
  • ISO 13485 – Medical Device Quality Management Systems — Quality management systems used in the design and manufacture of medical devices.
  • EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR 2017/745) — Development pathways for CE marking and regulatory approval where applicable.
  • BS EN 12021 – Breathing Gas Quality — Standards governing breathable oxygen and air quality used in respiratory applications.

Oxygen System Safety — Materials, regulators, valves, and gas delivery systems are selected with reference to oxygen compatibility and safe operating practices within hyperbaric engineering.

Important Notice: Some hyperbaric systems offered by Oxygens are intended for wellness and sports recovery applications and may not be classified as medical devices in certain jurisdictions. Certification and regulatory requirements vary by country, and customers should ensure compliance with their local regulations before installation or use.

Pressure Safety & Testing

Each chamber is pressure tested and certified by an independent UK test house before it leaves our facility. Designs follow recognised safe practice for pressure vessels, including PVHO-inspired testing and UK Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations where applicable.

Independent testing

Certified by a UK test house for pressure integrity prior to dispatch.

Pressure release valves

Primary and emergency release valves are fitted as standard for safe operation.

Easy door & seal systems

User-friendly doors and seal systems designed for reliable home use.

Clear gauges & controls

Intuitive control panels with visible pressure readouts for confident use.

Electrical & Product Compliance

All electrical components (compressors, control panels, oxygen concentrators) are UKCA/CE marked for consumer safety and tested to relevant electrical safety standards. Oxygen supply systems use medical-grade oxygen concentrators (where supplied) or connect to approved oxygen sources when requested.

  • UKCA/CE marked electrical parts
  • Certified compressors & control panels
  • Emergency stop and fail-safes

Oxygen supply

Medical-grade concentrators supplied or compatible with approved oxygen sources when requested.

User Training & Documentation

Every installation includes personal handover and training at your home or facility, plus a step-by-step user manual and 24/7 UK technical support for the lifetime of your chamber.

Personal handover

On-site setup and one-to-one training on normal & emergency procedures.

User manual

Step-by-step manual covering setup, daily use and emergency procedures.
