Before Every Session

  • Start the oxygen concentrator and set the session timer before entering the chamber.
  • Enter the chamber carefully. The frame, foam supports and zip areas are not designed to support body weight.
  • Before pressurising, ensure all three zips are fully closed all the way to the end.
  • Close all valves exactly as demonstrated during your installation and training.
  • Put on the oxygen mask and breathe normally throughout the session. If you notice pressure building in your ears equalise by gently "popping" the ears. You can blow or move your jaw to do this. You can do this as often as needed during session
  • Relax during use and allow the chamber to gradually pressurise.
  • Recommended use is typically 1–2 sessions per day, with sessions of approximately 60 minutes unless otherwise advised.
  • Your session will automatically finish when the timer ends. If required, the pressure release valve can be used to end the session earlier.
  • Never attempt to open the chamber until the pressure gauge has fully returned to ZERO.

Zip Safety — Very Important

The chamber must never be pressurised unless all zips are fully closed to the end position.

Even a partially open zip can allow pressure to force against exposed zip elements which may result in air leaks, zip damage or chamber failure.

Before every session, visually and physically check each zip carefully before pressurising the chamber.

Important: Zip failure caused by incorrect use or pressurising with partially open zips is not covered under warranty.

Chamber Environment

  • The chamber continuously fills with fresh filtered room air during operation.
  • The oxygen mask supplies additional concentrated oxygen during your session.
  • Keep a window open or ensure suitable room ventilation at all times.
  • The recommended room temperature is approximately 22°C where possible.
  • Keep the chamber away from radiators, heaters and direct heat sources.

Important Safety Rules

  • Do not sleep inside the chamber.
  • Do not exceed recommended session durations.
  • Only plug equipment directly into a wall socket.
  • Do not move, modify or alter the chamber or valves.
  • Do not bring sharp objects inside the chamber.
  • Do not use the frame, foam or zips to support yourself when entering or exiting.
  • Ensure you fully understand the valve system and emergency quick-release process as demonstrated during training.
  • Any electronic devices used inside the chamber should be approved by their manufacturer for use in pressure environments.
  • Oxygens accepts no responsibility for third-party electronic devices used inside the chamber.

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Vacuum the chamber weekly, or more frequently if required.
  • Use only a dry or slightly damp microfibre cloth for cleaning.
  • Do not use chemicals, sprays, solvents or abrasive cleaning products.

Chamber FAQs & Support

Below are some of the most common questions about everyday chamber use, setup and operation. If you are ever unsure, please contact the Oxygens team for guidance.

The valves sound different — is this normal?
Yes. Slight changes in valve sound can happen during normal operation depending on airflow and pressure levels. If you are unsure, gently test the valves as demonstrated during training. If air releases normally, the valves are usually functioning correctly.
The oxygen concentrator sounds different — should I be concerned?
Minor changes in sound can be completely normal as the concentrator settles in with use. Internal components naturally bed in over time which may slightly alter airflow or operating noise.

If you hear sudden loud noises, alarms or notice reduced performance, please contact Oxygens support.
The concentrator briefly stops and then restarts — is this normal?
Yes. The concentrator includes a built-in thermal safety cut-out system to help protect the equipment from overheating. In some situations the unit may briefly pause and automatically restart as part of this normal safety feature.

Ensure the concentrator has good ventilation and is not positioned near heat sources.
The chamber is not reaching pressure — what should I check?
First check that all valves are fully closed as demonstrated during installation training. Then carefully inspect all chamber zips and ensure they are completely closed to the very end.

Even a slightly open valve or partially closed zip can prevent the chamber from pressurising correctly.
The oxygen mask does not seem to be supplying oxygen — what should I check?
Check that the oxygen tubing is connected securely to the correct oxygen outlet on the concentrator and inspect the tube for any kinks or twists which may restrict airflow.

Ensure the concentrator is powered on and operating normally.
My ears feel pressured during compression — what should I do?
Mild ear pressure can be normal during pressurisation, similar to changes experienced during flying.

Gently clear your ears during compression by swallowing, yawning or performing gentle pressure equalisation techniques as demonstrated during training.

Never force pressure clearing. If discomfort continues, stop the session gradually using the pressure release valve and contact the Oxygens team for advice.
Are there any contraindications or situations where the chamber should not be used?
Yes. Certain medical conditions, medications or health situations may make hyperbaric oxygen use unsuitable for some individuals.

Always seek professional medical advice before beginning any new wellness or health-related routine. If you have concerns about suitability, please consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before use.
