Can you rent a hyperbaric chamber for home use?
Yes. Portable soft-shell hyperbaric chambers can be hired for use in a suitable private home. They are also used by gyms, recovery centres, physiotherapy practices, wellness businesses and professional sports organisations.
Oxygens has supplied chambers to private customers and organisations including Southampton FC, Leicester Tigers and Sunderland AFC. Our systems are professionally installed throughout mainland UK, with equipment training and ongoing UK support included.
A home installation still requires planning. The chamber needs enough space for the chamber itself, its frame and ancillary equipment, as well as safe access around it. The room must also be well ventilated and protected from excessive heat and direct sunlight.

The installation charge is separate because every Oxygens hire chamber is delivered, installed and commissioned by a PressureSafe-qualified engineer. Self-installation is not offered. At the end of the hire, Oxygens arranges the uninstall and collects the chamber and associated equipment.

Which type of hyperbaric chamber should you hire?
The right chamber is not automatically the largest model or the one with the highest operating pressure. Comfort, access, room layout, intended use and the support provided are equally important.
Oxygens soft-shell chambers operate at up to 1.5 ATA as standard. Lower-pressure configurations can also be supplied where required, allowing the chamber setup to be matched more appropriately to the customer’s circumstances and intended use.
Sit-Up soft-shell chamber
The Sit-Up is designed for a supported, comfortable reclined position. Its internal mattress is similar in shape to a sun lounger, but without separate leg supports. It can suit people who prefer to remain more upright or who may find lowering themselves into a floor-level lie-down chamber more difficult.
Lie-Down soft-shell chamber
The Lie-Down is designed for full recline and works well for people who want to stretch out during a session. Its spacious interior also allows many users to lounge or sit within it rather than remaining completely flat. The proposed room needs sufficient floor space for the chamber, frame and equipment.
XL Sit-Up soft-shell chamber

What does Oxygens check before approving a home installation?
A responsible supplier should consider both the intended user and the proposed environment before confirming a hire. Our pre-installation process considers:
1. User suitability: We ask relevant suitability questions, discuss recognised contraindications and advise customers to obtain independent medical advice where appropriate. Oxygens supplies non-medical wellness equipment and does not diagnose conditions or prescribe treatment.
2. Room size and clearance: We check that there is sufficient space for the chamber, frame and ancillary equipment, with safe access for installation, operation and emergencies.
3. Ventilation: The room must have suitable airflow so heat generated by the equipment does not accumulate. Ventilation may be provided by windows, vents or an appropriate air-conditioning system.
4. Heat and direct sunlight: Chambers should not be installed beside strong heat sources or in sustained direct sunlight. Room temperature must remain suitable for the equipment and user.

How does the hiring process work?
1. Discuss your requirements
Tell the Oxygens team whether the chamber is for a home, clinic, gym, recovery facility or another setting. We will ask about the intended user, preferred seating position, available room and likely duration of hire.
2. Assess the installation space
Provide room measurements and details of access, ventilation, heat and sunlight. A video call can be arranged where useful. Hard-shell installations require a more detailed engineering assessment.
3. Choose the chamber
The team will help you compare Sit-Up, Lie-Down, XL Sit-Up and, where appropriate, hard-shell options. You can also visit the Oxygens showroom to experience a chamber before committing.
4. Complete the hire agreement and payment
The agreement records the chosen equipment, minimum term, monthly price, responsibilities and arrangements for ending or extending the hire.
5. Arrange delivery and installation
Soft-shell chambers are normally available for installation within approximately seven working days, subject to availability and location. A PressureSafe-qualified engineer installs the complete system and carries out the handover.
6. Receive training and support
Training covers normal operation, pressurisation and depressurisation, oxygen-mask use, routine checks and emergency procedures. Follow-up technical support is available where required.
7. Continue, purchase or arrange collection
At the end of the minimum term, you can continue hiring, discuss purchasing or give the required notice for collection. Up to four months of qualifying soft-shell hire payments can be deducted if you purchase.
Can you hire a 2.0 ATA hard-shell hyperbaric chamber?
Yes. The Winslet 2.0 ATA hard-shell chamber is available to hire for qualifying private and commercial installations.
Current Winslet hire terms are:
– Minimum hire term: 4 months
– Monthly hire: £1,400 + VAT (£1,680 including VAT)
– Refundable security deposit: £6,000, subject to the hire terms and return without damage
– Professional installation: £1,495 + VAT (£1,794 including VAT)
– Professional collection: £1,495 + VAT (£1,794 including VAT)
– Up to four monthly hire payments deductible from the hire-to-buy purchase price
– Hire-to-buy purchase price: £41,995 + VAT (£50,394 including VAT). Purchase price is lower when buying outright.
The equipment remains Oxygens’ property until purchased in full. An engineer assessment and video consultation are required before booking, and business customers must maintain appropriate insurance.

Room and access requirements for a Winslet
The Winslet is a substantial fixed hard-shell system. Ground-floor installation is preferred because of its weight and the turning space needed during delivery, although other possibilities can be discussed with the engineering team.
The room should:
– Be well ventilated through a suitable window, vents or air conditioning
– Have sufficient access and turning clearance
– Have an appropriate floor and installation position assessed by the team
– Provide a standard wall socket for the equipment
– Not rely on an extension lead
– Allow safe operation and access around the chamber
Overseas supply may also be available, subject to an individual assessment of installation, logistics and local requirements.
What safety and support questions should you ask a hire company?

Hiring can be the better starting point when you want a lower initial commitment, need a chamber for a defined period or would like to experience regular access before purchasing. It also provides a supported route in which installation, training and later collection are arranged for you.
Buying may make more financial sense when you expect to keep the chamber long term, want unrestricted ongoing access or are establishing a permanent commercial service.
