How is oxygen supplied?
The chamber is pressurised with filtered ambient air. Oxygen is supplied separately through the mask. The concentrator produces approximately 93% oxygen with a tolerance of ±3%, measured at its output with a calibrated oxygen analyser. The amount inhaled can vary with mask fit, breathing pattern and operating pressure.
How much space is required?
The operating footprint is approximately 1.5 × 1 metre. Allow at least 50 cm around the chamber for access, ventilation and servicing, giving a recommended clear area of approximately 2.5 × 2 metres.
How is it pressure tested?
Every chamber is inspected and pressure tested before release. The design has also completed 50 inflation cycles at 35% above maximum operating pressure. Pressure-test documentation is supplied.

How loud is the equipment?
Operating sound has been tested at under 60 dB using a decibel meter. The air system includes a muffler and, where required, a water trap. Sound can vary slightly with the room, equipment position and stage of pressurisation.
What warranty is included?
New systems include a two-year warranty covering the chamber, zips, compressors, controls and supplied concentrator, subject to the warranty terms and 1,000 operating hours annual fair use. Used chambers include a 12-month warranty.
What happens after 1,000 hours?
This is a warranty and servicing benchmark, not a technical limit. The chamber does not stop at 1,000 hours. A professional service is required at that point, with more frequent servicing potentially recommended for intensive use.
Is annual servicing required?
It is optional for normal private home use unless required by the warranty terms or the chamber reaches 1,000 hours. Business operators should arrange annual servicing and confirm their insurer’s requirements.
Does it have a serial number?
Yes. Each chamber has an individual serial number and attached data plate. It is not etched into the soft-shell material because this could compromise the material’s integrity.
Can electronics be used inside?
Only use a battery-powered or electronic device when its manufacturer has specifically confirmed that the complete device is suitable for use in a hyperbaric chamber. Pressure testing alone is not sufficient. Contact Oxygens before taking any electronic device inside.

Is a Written Scheme required?
A PSSR Written Scheme of Examination is not normally required for this soft-shell chamber. Commercial customers should confirm their individual legal, compliance and documentation requirements with a competent adviser and their insurer.

Is the chamber suitable for everyone?
No. Hyperbaric chamber use is not suitable in every circumstance. An untreated pneumothorax is an absolute contraindication, while some medical conditions, recent procedures and medications may require professional assessment. Please review the contraindication information supplied by Oxygens and seek advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional if you are unsure.
Is the Sit-Up a medical device?
The Oxygens Sit-Up chamber is supplied for appropriate non-medical wellness use. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, prevent or cure a medical condition. Anyone considering hyperbaric use in relation to a diagnosed condition should seek advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
What UK support is available?
